US - New Orleans

New orleans 4.JPG

The French Quarter has always been and always will be cool. The French style patios and buildings are old and falling down really, but they are cool and so fitting. Bourbon street gets crowded and can be overwhelming but walking down the street with a drink can never be too much of a bad thing. Dining on balconies overlooking the madness is also the perfect start to any evening. The strip shows are cool enough and are kind of a must since they dot the Bourbon street landscape.

Notes to self:

-Gotta eat a muffalata
-Go back to Buchon, that place, especially its fast casual addition is bad ass
-Eat breakfast at Camellia Grill…good enough food, but the staff is just fun…yelling and shit
-Have 5 to 10 Hurricanes

W French Quarter - Apr 2018, Jul 2013

Meh. Double Meh. The lobby is very small and boring. The pool is very small and boring. The bar is staffed by people who have no idea what they are doing. The rooms have some style but are small and not very interesting…we did have a balcony but it was also meh. The location is good but the main areas of New Orleans are close enough to one another. The W downtown is not far away at all and looked much more modern and W-like. The French Quarter one is like the W Union Square in NYC…it’s a fine hotel, but it shouldn’t be called a W.
