I’m not a big lake guy. The whole thing just seems so stagnant and swampy to me. In this particular case we happened to have a very nice house. The stairs were steep as shit to get to and from the lake, but at the end of the day, at least it was on the lake right? Some places had these cool funiculars to take goods and sometimes people up and down their giant hills…kinda neat.

A little too nice store wise, but I dig the vibe. Yachts everyone. Hot girls everywhere. And great bathing suits and dresses. Yes please. Walking through the old town shopping district is fun, then we did the beach club scene for lunch and some Mediterranean swimming afterwards. Awesome for my bro to come out and meet us too!
The “main” drag is La Croisette road that runs along the coast, high end retailers on one side of the street, and beach clubs as far as the eye can see on the other side. I preferred the streets heading up into town from la croisette, but you really need both. And the rad intercontinental was completely under construction, but whatever.

Can you believe he did those things?! Anyway, Interlaken is great for outdoors stuff. Having just gone to Lauterbrunnen I would say it is far more my style at this point, but the allure of Interlaken for young people is hard to overstate. It’s a backpackers dream and a great way to try new things and meet new people.

First things first, Lufthansa is supposed to be the jam. I think they are way over rated. They have giant planes but that’s about it. I was stoked to check out the lounge at Dulles and it was the jank. I walked in and I was like, alright, this can work…but I hear excuse me sir, are you first class? Well, I uh, I want to go there, there please. No sir, the business class lounge is downstairs. I start to cry uncontrollably, what’s that line from American Psycho, ‘when we arrive at the restaurant I’m almost in tears because I just know that we’re going to get a bad table’. Patrick Bateman was wrong, I was right.

On my most recent to visit to Charlotte I still don’t feel like I know it. I want to know it better but it just always makes me feel like I’m in downtown Manhattan, which is not a particularly fun place to be. It’s a place built for function, and I’d like some style in my life please.

I never quite figured out why so many people love San Francisco. The weather kinda sucks and there are massive hills everywhere. I should probably move there just to get in shape! That being said, it has some of the best bars and restaurants in the US, plenty of cool hotels, and a bayside road filled with various markets, piers, and views. I like visiting if the weather is good and if I have a friend who lives there at the time.
Update! Not much has changed! haha. Definitely lovin the Ferry Building, they really put in the right mix of stuff in there (especially that bangin grilled cheese shop).

New York is easily one of the greatest cities in the world. I often joke that if you want to eat the best food from any country in the world, then go to America, and specifically go to New York (the theory being that any chef who becomes famous for anything is either going to open a shop in NYC, or one of their employees will).
I actually lived in New York when I was younger and had mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it offered every single thing a person could ever want to try, on the other hand people honked all the time and looked at me like I was a psycho killer when I said hello while walking down the street.

I know why you like it. At least I think I know why you like it. I’m trying hard to understand.
It’s secluded right? It’s quiet? It’s isolated making it unique and special? Is that it?
Maybe I just don’t get it. I might never to be honest with you, perhaps it’s just not me.
For starters, it’s close to nothing. There’s pretty much one way in and one way out (pretty much anyway). So there’s that. So maybe there is this, if this is the closest reasonably cool beach, then I am all for it. If this is the hand that god dealt you, then play the shit out of that bitch.
But, and I mean BUT, if the above isn’t true. If the above isn’t very true, then what the hell are you doing?

Duuuudddeeee. Went back August 2019 and damn that bird was jumpin. Hard Rock was like grand central and the place was packed. Ocean was also packed but much more upscale. The boardwalk was jammed up and people were everywhere. It was actually a great feeling. We went for the fantasy draft this year and rented a private space at Chickie and Pete’s in the Tropicana (went by the 4 dollar boardwalk driving tram…do not do this, took about 40 mins to get to the Trop from Ocean). The space itself was rad though. Could not have been better. All you can drink and eat for about 70 a person including tax and gratuity. Pretty sick and we put that policy to the test let me tell you. I have never seen 7 people drink and eat as much as we did in our 4 hour window. Holy shit.

Pretty sweet area, but I think the hotel I picked, while rad, didn't offer a great experience for town living. It was just too far away. A supposed 10 minute walk was actually like a difficult 45 minute walk. It was hot so I’m biased, but still it was a bit of a hike. It was also super crowded, with super lines to the ferries and the funicular. Lines everywhere.
Como, and lake como in general, overall only appears to be worth it if you are renting a villa on the lake, or are perhaps invited to hang with Clooney (and there are very few taxis so have a car to get to Clooneys!).

I’m not sure what’s interesting about Geneva. A fountain in a lake? Speaking of the beautiful lake, the lakefront ain’t exactly amazing. So underutilized commercially. The city was not bustling with fun lovers, and any adult part of the city was sad and scary and full of non Swiss people as far as I can tell.

Snowshoe is the best we got in the mid Atlantic. Stay in Allegheny springs, Seneca, or expedition station, ideally facing the slopes, though the sunsets facing the other way are nice too. Allegheny seemed best and we were in 444/442. The 44’s have the circular jut out right over the slopes. Jan 2022.The gas fireplace worked well.
The heated pool and hot tub area was actually great but hard to use if it’s too cold when you aren’t a cracked out 20 year old.

I now that people love Nashville. I’ve heard it my whole life. I never imagined how right they were. Like people talk shit you know? But these shit talkers were talking some honest shit. The shit be the truth.
But seriously, what an amazing place. I think I’ve traveled to most “party” places in the world, and make no mistake this is a party place, but it’s more than that. It’s better than that. The music flows out of every place like a welcome mat. The music isn’t an additional piece of the puzzle, it’s the other way around, and I love it. It isn’t always your type of music, and it certainly isn’t always at the volume level that you would prefer, but for real, the people making the music are having a great time, and the people listening to the music are having a great time. I couldn’t believe how generally happy everyone seemed. It was uplifting.

Napa is actually pretty awesome. It's expensive, and it's fairly simple, but it is awesome.
Their main drag is maybe 7 or blocks long and it's full of restaurants and shops. It's too far on the nicer side of things but there's some regular places too. not much fast casual and the likes of that.
Yountville is a special gem in this area. Obviously home to the French Laundry, but it has a tone of great placees and I thought it had a better, small town feel to it than Napa.

I really don’t understand people that don’t like Miami…I suppose I should say South Beach because that’s all I’m really talking about. Now maybe I would hate living in South Beach, but visiting is like going to another world. They have beautiful beaches, great weather, and gorgeous people, but it’s the hotels that define the place for me. They don’t have this many hotels, with this much style, anywhere in the world. Walking down Collins Avenue and bar hopping at hotel bars is one of my favorite things to do on the planet. It can be so surreal. Not enjoying something like that bothers me…and those people are probably no fun to hang out with anyway. These hotels are sexy and hip while being grand like Marylin Monroe. They make me want to smoke so I can feel like I’m in the 50’s just the slightest bit more.

What a great city. Fuck living there, but what a cool place to visit. It’s like seeing a TV show happen right before your eyes. People love to talk in LA, I think because you never know who somebody is and they might be your shot at making it big. I have been introduced to plenty of people calmly eating breakfast or having a beer who were major casting directors or producers. I kind of love that about LA, some people are fucked up and annoying, but most people are behind the scenes…powerful and unassuming. It also doesn’t hurt that there are beautiful girls everywhere!

Other than it being expensive, it’s be really hard not to like Telluride. It’s pretty amazing that it even exists being so buried in the mountains like it is. We actually drove from Denver and I’m telling you that was a hell of a thing. I think the temperature went down to minus 20 at one point, and you’re in the middle of nowhere so a car break down is like certain death! Anyway, the town is littered with rich communities and then has the “city” which is as charming a winter main street as one could get.
